Gifts for Clergy
Benjamin
Franklin said, "The most acceptable service of God is doing good to
man." Those that devote their time and energies to our spiritual
well-being are worthy of our utmost attention. We hope you'll find
some inspiration in the following ideas.
House Calls.
Offer to visit ill or hospitalized members of his or her
congregation or to take meals to shut-ins.
At Your Service.
Provide, or arrange for, regular gardening, lawn, or housekeeping
services for the house of worship or the clergyman's residence.
A
Night on the Town.
Arrange an evening out for the clergyman and his wife and
baby-sitting services for their children.
You’re Invited.
Host a reception in her honor. Invite attendees to contribute notes,
cards, letters, or pictures to place into a scrapbook expressing
thanks and appreciation for the clergy’s service.
Outside Interest.
Give a book, magazine subscription, or other gift relating to the
clergyperson's interests outside of his or her regular
ecclesiastical duties. See relevant interest categories under
Gifts by Passion.
Help Wanted. Volunteer your services to help answer the telephones, or to
perform bookkeeping, record keeping, filing, typing, word
processing, or other clerical duties. Or contribute your time to a
fund-raising activity or charitable event.
